Proyecto Pastoral

Proposed Budget: $261,878

Proyecto Pastoral will reach 70 families and residents facing housing insecurity in Boyle Heights to help them remain in housing and reduce the risk of eviction when experiencing financial hardship. Over 12 months, $150,000 of rental assistance will be distributed, regardless of legal status and prioritizing long-time tenants. As the Peace & Healing Center for Boyle Heights, this project will be delivered alongside peace-building and healing activities for a multi-pronged approach to address the long-term impact of racial injustice. With 14 years of experience providing rental assistance in Boyle Heights, Proyecto has the expertise and infrastructure to make a real impact.

East LA Community Corporation (ELACC)

Proposed Budget: $450,000

The goal of ELACC’s For the Neighborhood program is to prevent the displacement of long-term Boyle Heights households by providing up to $3,000 in rental assistance to tenants at risk of losing their homes due to financial hardship. Their program is focused on serving 100 extremely low to low-income residents, the majority of whom are immigrant Latinx, undocumented, and monolingual Spanish speakers. ELACC has been a HUD-approved housing counseling agency for 20 years ensuring that participants in our program will receive comprehensive financial capability services and will be connected to other resources as needed to help achieve housing stability.
